Star Guitar notches 10th consecutive victory in the Louisiana Legends Classic Stakes
Every time, Star Guitar is on the track the pressure starts to mount, and his connections seem to get more and more nervous.

The seven-year-old claimed his tenth victory on 30th June, 2012, when he competed in the Louisiana Legends Classic Stakes at Evangeline Downs on a dirt surface which covered 1 1/16 miles.
Courtesy of his brisk pace and the help of his rider, Gerard Melancon, the runner was able to come out on top.

The bay horse struggled in the closing stages of the race, but responded well to the jockey’s command, and picked up speed at the right time to down the distance in 1 minute and 43.71 seconds.

It was a narrow ¾ of a length victory over the runner-up, Heavy on Themister, while the third place was secured by, Get In Da House.
The victory was expected of the runner, who is foaled by mare Minit Towinit, since he entered with the highest weight of 123 lbs.
With this success, Star Guitar was able to set a new track record, which was previously owned by, Drill Hall, who set the record in the March 4, 2006 by topping the distance in 1 minute and 44.24 seconds.
Trainer Al Stall Junior believes that there is a high of pressure when the son of Quiet American takes the track, and it makes him quite nervous. He stated:
“It’s turned into a situation where it becomes such an event when he runs, for us at least,” said the trainer, who trains the horse for the Brittlyn Stable, Inc. “The expectations get so high I find myself getting little more nervous than I used to.
But he always delivers.”
The trainer was pleased with the confidence the runner demonstrated while racing as he said:
“He did his thing,” he added:  “We’ve kind of gotten used to that.”
In order to add another victory to his record, the runner will try his luck in the $125,000 Evangeline Mile at Evangeline Downs, which will take place on 11th August, 2012.
The runner’s impeccable winning streak began on 11th December, 2010, when he was mounted by jockey, Robby J. Albarado,  and defeated the James C. Hudson trained, Snug, in 1 minute and 51.12 seconds over 1 1/8 miles in the LA
Champions Day Classic.
