Star Guitar ready to return to the work tab after his win in the Costa Rising Stakes
The all-time richest Louisiana bred, Star Guitar, after his win in the Costa Rising Stakes at Fair Grounds is ready to get back to the work tab for trainer Albert M. Stall Jr. The Fair Grounds race enabled the 7-year-old gelding to surpass the mark of Happy
Ticket’s earnings of $1,688,838, when he went a notch up by shooting his bank roll up to $1,689,862.
Brittlyn Stable, Inc owned Star Guitar has been at the winner’s circle for his nine previous starts, dating back to December 2010.
His nine race win streak started with a win in the LA Champions Day Classic at Fair Grounds Race Course at about 1 1/8 mile, and since then he never looked back and posted nine victories on the trot.
“I might do something with him this Saturday or Sunday,” said Al Stall Jr., who trains Star Guitar for Brittlyn Stable. “He’s had a little breather. We’ll start him back up and decide what we’re going to do.”
“We’re still trying to figure out where we’ll run him next,” Stall said. “We don’t have anything picked out yet.”
Bred in Louisiana, Star Guitar was undefeated in the 2011 season, amassing 5 victories. He started out with a win in the Premier Night Championship at Delta Downs race track, and then went on to win the 2011 edition of the Costa Rising Stakes at Fair Grounds.
He was sidelined for 4 months, but that didn’t put off the gelding as he turned in his 2011 hat-trick with a win in the Louisiana Showcase Classic at Evangeline Downs.
In August 2011, the son of Quiet American, out of mare Minit Towinit by Malagra, Star Guitar stayed at Evangeline Downs to down the Evangeline Mile Handicap, in which he was cut back to distance.
He rounded off his undefeated season with a win in a race from where it all started, the LA Champions Day Classic at about 1 1/8 miles at Fair Grounds.
Star Guitar kicked off the new campaign with a scintillating win in the Premier Night Championship at Delta Downs going over a distance of 1 1/16 miles defeating Populist Politics in third.
