Star In Flight expected to fly through the Watt Fences Novices’ Hurdle at Catterick
Watt Fences Novices’ Hurdle will take place at Catterick, on 28th February, 2012. The race will cover a distance of 2 miles and 3 furlongs, where 16 runners will competing for a purse of £2,599.
The runners competing in this race are:

Star In Flight,
Dark Exile,
Edmund,
Formulation,
George My Friend,
Grey Life,
Now Then Sam,
Raktiman,
Regythelion,
So Bazaar,
Walser,
Annie’s Pride,
Creagan Bay,
Auburn Lady, and
Rosairlie.
Star In Flight has already competed in a race in 2012. He could not complete his previous race as he unseated the jockey. He was running with a good pace and lead before he made a mistake, in the Catterickbridge.co.uk Novices’ Hurdle, at
Catterick, on 12th January, 2012.
The 5-year-old son of Mtoto, out of Star Entry, succeeded in the race before that. He stole the competition in the Buy Your 2012 Annual Badge Today Maiden Hurdle, at the same course, on 28th December, 2011.
He went about the race with a steady pace and defeated Maybe I Wont by 15 lengths.
Edmund, the 9-year-old gelding, finished in 5th place in his seasonal debut.
The son of Indian River, out of Awomansdream, took keep hold but he blundered and fell behind, in the John Smith’s Novices’ Hurdle, at Musselburgh, on 11th February, 2012.
Raktiman, the son of Rakti, out of Wish List, finished as a runner-up in his previous race.
He was defeated by Record Breaker, in the Great Offers At Wolverhampton-Rcaecource.co.uk Handicap, at Wolverhampton, on 21st October, 2011.
Rosairlie, daughter of Halling, out of Mrs Mason, finished in 4th place in a line-up of 11 runners  in her previous race, the Leicester, Juvenile Fillies’ Hurdle, at Leicester, on 1st December, 2 011.
Based on the betting pattern, it looks like Star In Flight will lead this race. Despite the fact that he could not complete his previous race, bookmakers and punters are taking keen interest in him. He is being named the evening’s favourite. Large bets are
placed on him. His connections, especially his trainer, Donald McCain is hoping that he will be able to live up to the expectations.
The second place is likely to be acquired by Edmund who has the winning odds of 12 to 1.
The contenders who are likely to acquire a finish in the third place are Raktiman and Rosairlie.
