Star In Flight favourite for the Bravo Inns Handicap Hurdle
Star In Flight is likely to prevail in the Bravo Inns Handicap Hurdle at Haydock in England on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £4,549.
The going will be good to soft in the 2 mile 4 furlong race. A total of 11 runners have been confirmed for the class-3 event, which will start at 2:40 GMT, and their names are: Star In Flight, Timesawastin, Radmores Revenge, Shadows Lengthen, Trustan Times,
Little Hercules, Stopped Out, Jetnova, Jukebox Melody, Sir Tantallus Hawk and Stars Du Granits.
Out of these runners, Star In Flight has managed to win the confidence of bookmakers because of his consistent performances over the past few months. He has got a decent record in races over hurdles and will be tough to beat in today’s race.
The five-year-old gelding has participated in four hurdles until now, winning a couple of them. He was unable to deliver strong results in the other two events, but has been in terrific rhythm recently.
Donald McCain’s trainee was victorious in his most recent outing at Catterick in the Watt Fences Novices’ Hurdle. He entered the event as favourite and lived up to the expectations of everyone.
Star In Flight was dominant right from the start of the race and he did not allow anyone else to come closer, winning the race by 11 lengths. This performance would have given a bug boost to his confidence and the punters will also be placing a lot of best
in his favour at Haydock today.
Today’s favourite runner will be partnered by veteran jockey, Jason Maguire, who has earned 250 victories in races over hurdles and will be looking forward to add more victories to that tally.
On the other hand, Timesawastin also has the potential to win races and he will give a tough time to his rivals. He does not have a good strike rate, but his recent performances have been decent.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in eight hurdles until now, winning a couple of them. Other than that, he has also secured a couple of runner up and third place finishes as well, which shows he has the speed to fight for victories.
Seasoned rider, Paul Moloney, will partner Evan Williams’ trainee in today’s race. He has won 156 hurdles in his career until now.
The real battle will be between the top two favourites whereas the rest of the participants will find it difficult to win at Haydock today.
