Star Wars: Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery accused of solicitation with an underage prostitute
The French players Karim Benzema and Franck Ribery just cannot get enough of their miseries. The Real Madrid midfielder Benzema and Bayern Munich left wing player have both been accused of underage prostitution with a call girl.
Media reports have brought out information that the two star players from France are now being charged with having s*x with a minor. As per French law, s*x with a minor could land up the aces imprisoned in jail for 3 years.
For now the two players have been incarcerated by the police while the questioning and investigation goes on. The players have been detained for an inquiry but this could quickly turn out to be much more than a detention as the inevitable call from the judge approaches.
Police have confirmed that the two stars are being held and being questioned. Police also revealed that they are questioning the duo about the prostitution groups on the rise in Paris.
The allegations made in the case made a new turn when the minor Zahia Dehar accused Benzema and Ribery of having s*x with her and at the time she was a minor. With this piece of information Benzema and Ribery were both hit hard at the World Cup which eventually saw Benzema’s exclusion from the team and Ribery performing poorly in the World Cup.
According to the French Law “Prostitution” is lawfully permitted in France however the escorts, call girls or prostitutes have to be over the legal age 18, and if they are not then their customers have to be the ones that are responsible for the consequences. As put in words by the Police, they will have to pay dearly, with much more than money.
Media reports have concluded that the duo Benzema and Ribery were held under custody by the police just hours after the questioning by the related authorities were completed. After the official judicial investigation had taken place and the interrogation by the French Vice Squad was completed they were released.
The penalty the two defamed stars will have to face if the prosecutors are successful in proving that Benzema and Ribery had knowledge that the call girl Zahia Dehar was a minor will be a minimum of three years in prison and a hefty fine.
In the French court, Judge Andre Dando presided over the case on the “solicitation of a minor prostitute”. So far the evidence is still being collected and the statements are being compiled. The case presented by the prosecutors is putting some heavy pressure on the duo and they do not seem very sound and stable defending it.
The case is revolving around the incidents that took place at Zaman Cafe. The cafe was the place where the whole dilemma started when the players and Dehar met. Zaman Cafe is a bar at the Champs-Elysees, Paris.
Benzema and the brother in law of Ribery were scheduled to be present before Judge Dando for the accusation before the grand jury early in the evening. So far there has been no news on the statements given in the 7 hour period he had been kept under custody. Ribery quietly exited the Punishment of Procuring Brigade in the morning after his detention period for the questioning. Benzema has yet to appear before the judge on a later date.
In the inquiry Zahia Dehar has revealed that she had s*x with the French players Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema in 2008 and 2009. She also emphasized the point that during that time she was underage.
The French government now face another image problem of the team after the poor performance at the World Cup and the disrespect shown by Nicolas Anelka followed by the imprudence shown by Coach Raymond Domenech.
In the aftermath of all that, this case is continuing to degrade what is left of the French football as the traditional scandals by French players stay alive and the duo face a 3 year imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 Euros.
