The latest patch for BioWare’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic has been released yet it does not address the issue of a certain invincibility dance.
Patches have become a norm in the modern day video game industry, with developers providing after sales support to their gaming customers by fixing issues and tweaking gameplay to ensure an enjoyable experience in the long term.
BioWare is no stranger to patches and has recently released the latest update for the Old Republic which fixes a number of issues but bafflingly does not address a major exploit that is being used by gamers on both sides of the force.
If players were to dance in the middle of a fire fight then they, for some odd reason, do not take any damage that would otherwise have been dealt to their characters. It seems that there is a mightier power than the Force, the power of dance.
It may be hilarious for players to encounter the first time, however, as time wears on it becomes increasingly annoying and takes a majority of the enjoyment out of the game.
That is not to say that the developers are not aware of the problem as they are busy at work adding the final touches to a patch aimed at just this issue.
BioWare released a statement that read, “We’re currently testing this patch, and we hope to have it deploy sometime in the early hours of the morning tomorrow.” Great news for everyone, yet as with all things there is always a catch, “but if we experience
any issues with this patch, we may hold off its deployment until tomorrow night.”
While waiting another 24-hours may not seem that daunting a prospect to many, for some of the more hardcore fans, (read, “lunatics”) it may be too long a wait, though there we doubt it will lead to any serious complications.
So there the reader has it, they have just under a day to dance in the middle of a gun fight in the Old Republic and annoy everyone else before the force takes over and destroys the invincibility dance.
