Star free-agent pitcher Kyle Lohse might sign with Milwaukee Brewers – MLB News
Speculations are mounting in the media that star free agent starting pitcher Kyle Lohse might sign with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Not only just the Brewers are after him but the Baltimore Orioles along with Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels and Boston Red Sox are also quite hopeful that they will sign Lohse for the very next Major League outing.
“I believe in our young pitchers, I really do. But I have no doubt would help any team he signed with, Facing him the last couple years, he's the more challenging guys, He's one of those guys who continues to reinvent himself,” Brewers star Ryan Braun said
about whether they should sign Lohse.
Later the Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said, “Things change. You never know. But at this point, we want to look at our guys first, I'm not opposed to giving up a first-round pick if it's a 30-year-old guy you give a three- or four-year deal to. You
have to find out about your guys, You just can't afford to give up your draft picks.''
Lohse performed wonderfully in the last season with the St. Louis Cardinals. He achieved consistent numbers of 2.86 along with 16-3 win loss, 143 strikeouts and 1.09 WHIP. Overall he is carrying a good career 4.45 ERA along with 118-109 win loss, 1238 strikeouts
and 1.37 WHIP.
It is a healthy sign that Brewers will have the services of a world class pitcher. It will potentially give them a positive boost to sustain their previous consistent efforts intact.
Currently the Brewers have starting pitcher Marco Estrada along with Yovani Gallardo and Chris Narveson who are certainly able to achieve good results for their franchise.
Estrada showed good commitment in the last Major League season by achieving consistent 3.64 ERA along with 5-7 win loss, 143 strikeouts and 1.14 WHIP.
He has also a very good career ERA of 4.32 along with 9-16 win-loss, 263 strikeouts and 1.23 WHIP. Yovani Gallardo has also played well in the last MLB outing where he achieved 3.66 ERA along with 16-9 win loss, 204 strikeouts and 1.30 WHIP.
