Star studded exhibition game sets Miami on fire –
NBA Update
Saturday’s anticipated exhibition game in Miami was nothing like a usual exhibition game.
The intensity was more on the lines of a regular season NBA game. Just like they do before the league game, the players had the meal, massage and then two hours of hoops practice before the start of game.
According to Dwyane Wade and James LeBron, the two co-hosts, this game was nothing about lockout but all about fans. This is the reason the duo secured assurance from other NBA giants like Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Russell
Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Rudy g*y, Chris Paul, Amar’e Stoudemire and a chunk of other NBA players to play this game.
"We'll play any day, any time, that's why we're here tonight, giving back to our fans and what they deserve and letting them know that no matter what's going on with our situation, we're going to play the game and play at a high
level” said James.
It was a well fought battle. With 2 seconds to go, Carmelo’s three pointer for Wade’s team sent the game to overtime with scores leveled at 127-127. But it was brilliance of Dwyane in the end that saw the team home.
With 3.2 seconds to go in the game, Wade made 2 free throws and managed to score on both of them to lead his team to a close 141-140 victory. Though James did give a scare to Dwayne when he ruffled a half court jumper but unfortunately
for James, the time had expired by then.
Tickets for this game were sold out in less than two hours. Many fans deprived of NBA action stood in rain to acquire the best seats in the gym which just shows how much they adore the game. James tried to award as many as possible
with T-shirts and free samples of product that he is heavily involved with.
The Gym was fully occupied by fans long before the tip-off. Fans furnished the building all the way to the very top of Ruthville. And no one got back home disappointed for sure.
Highlight of third quarter of the game was a great dunking exhibition by Kevin Durant and James LeBron which received a loud ovation from all the fans in the crowd including Floyd May weather- a boxer from US who managed to make
his entry before the quarter.
Many players had to change their schedule to appear in this match which just shows how united the players are. Paul, the former Wake Forest star left instantly after the Demon Deacons football triumph over Florida State to catch
a flight to Miami managing to reach the arena 90 minutes before the start of the game.
Players were seen wearing t-shirts with slogan “Basketball never stops” which is a clear message to NBA no matter they cancel the season, players will still be jumping in the court entertaining fans.
