Star wars knights of the old republic 2 menu problems?

Question

I have tried to install 'star wars knights of the old republic II : the sith lords' onto my computer, however after the install i run the game and get to the main menu but there is no text on the buttons.

ive tried changing the resolution in the options but this didnt help either, the resolution options are the only words that show up in the whole options too.

ive also trued reinstalling it lots of times, and installing it on my friends computer, where it worked fine.

My computer specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0 GHz

2gig RAM

Nvidia Geforce 6800 GS with up to date drivers

Direct x 9.0c

which meets the requirements too.

Can anyone help me sort this out?

what is your operating system?

is it vista? it might be a compatibility issue

lately, vista has a lot of those issues and others call it glitches

you can try to install this software to other computer, then see if it works fine (be sure that it also met the software requirements)

if you encounter the same problem using a different computer, then might as well it's a software problem at all.
