Help me... please i have been playing risk for a while now and i am still confused with this. If I send troops over along with a ship to invade a planet and all of my troops die, does that mean that my ship gets destroyed too?

  1. Unfortunately, the rules for this (in both the original trilogy and clone wars versions) are not clear.  They discuss defending ships, but not attacking ones.

    Taken from: http://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/Ri...

"If you win the invasion by destroying all of your opponent's troops, any ship defending that planet are also destroyed.

If you used ships to attack with, you must move them onto the planet you conquered along with your invading troops."

That would suggest that in a battle which resolves against a player, ship loss occurs if the ground troops are completely destroyed.  I would extend that to say that as an attacker, if you choose to push "to the last man," then you would lose any ships involved in the attack as well.

Some other folks opinions, here:  http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2687...

    Happy conquering!
