Starboard certain about shining in the Grade A1 420 metres flat race at Peterborough
The Grade A1 420 metres flat race has pulled together some really versatile hounds for the event. Three out of the five lined up have emerged out of successes, and the most competent of all is the two-year-old black b***h, Starboard. She seems to be the most capable to bag the £98 prize money of the race staged at Peterborough on Wednesday, 19th September.
Hondo Black’s daughter has extended her winning streak to five and winning the race tonight will notch it up to six. The wins varied between Grade A8 to Grade A2. All the races were at Peterborough and all of them were over 420 metres.
Starboard took on with the racing career just this season and since then has proved herself time and again.
Her incredible streak took off with the Grade A8 420 metres flat race on 15th August, 2012 at Peterborough.
She led from the first position which later she had to reclaim when racing in the second spot. Taking charge for half the track distance took the evening’s favourite 26.10 seconds to settle the race.
Finishing right behind was, Glamorous Rose.
The P. Braithwaite trained struck a hat-trick by landing the Grade A5 420 metres flat race on 1st September, 2012 at Peterborough.
The blue jacket remained prominent throughout the race track and consequently made it to the other end of the wire in 25.62 seconds. The favourite entry won by the margin of 5 ½ lengths which shoved Winword Lady into the second position.
The two-year-old stretched the hat-trick a week later on 8th September in the Grade A3 Wedding Bells Stakes at Peterborough. Starboard took off from her usual trap, and sped up right at the beginning of the race.
Despite facing trouble throughout the track, she was able to settle the differences in 25.80 seconds, and escaped across the wire by the margin of just half-length.
The 11 to 8 entry has drawn the third trap for tonight, she has been lucky with the second number, but has persevered with what she will race from tonight. She will need to stay vigilant from the competitive line-up.
