Does Starbucks bake their pasteries and such on site at each location?

Or, do they have a regional center that bakes pasteries for the entire area and deliver them, or do they outsource it to someone else?

  1. I believe there frozen and someones come in the night and bakes them.

  2. Starbuck's outsources most of their food items. Some are baked locally by a baker, others are brought in.

"According to Starbucks public relations specialist Jenny Walsh, many seasonal items, such as Cranberry Bliss Bars, are made in Pennsylvania and shipped, frozen, nationwide.

Moreover, several pound cakes and the reduced-fat coffee cakes that are currently available are also shipped nationwide, frozen, by the San Antonio bakery.

However, she went on to say, in every region, a local bakery is contracted to produce baked goods using Starbucks' recipes.

That creates an even bigger mystery. One bakery in one city can turn out substandard fare. How can Starbucks' pastries be disappointing from Pacific Beach to Pawtucket? And if you don't believe that, check out the blogs and online forums where people rant about the pitiful fare." Source below:
