Question:

Starbucks...Has this ever happened to you?

I went to my regular Starbucks today and ordered a tall frap. Anyway, when I tried to pay I found that my wallet was not in my purse. When I tried to cancel my order the barista was like, don't worry about it. It's on the house.

I was totally shocked by her generosity. Well, I thanked her for the drink and immediately went home to get money. I paid what I owed (despite the fact that it was free) and gave a dollar fifty-five tip.

Is this a common practice of Starbucks or did I just get lucky? I love Starbucks! :)

  1. i dont think its comon but today i was in QT and only had $1.25 and it was $1.40 but the guy said dont worry about it

  2. It is not common practice of Starbucks, but common practice of a great person. That was really nice!

  3. It's normal. Starbucks' generally do whatever they have to do to keep their customers happy. In doing this, she kept you happy, and by doing so, now they speculate that even if you're closer to another Starbucks, you'll go to theirs. =]

  4. i lvoe starbucks they have the best coffee drinks ever! xD i was short changed one time and they said don't worry about it xD

  5. Actually it happens at a lot of fast food places too. They rather give you the food than throw it out, which is what she would have had to do. Why waste it after it's already made?

  6. Not common practice, but definitely happens.  I have had that happen several times (not the wallet thing specifically, but the comp drink).  I have to admit, it has never happened to me at Coffee Bean even though I love them!

  7. Common practice or not, it's pretty darn good business, id'n it. Salute to your barista, Starbucks, and to you, for doing the right thing in paying and the good thing in tipping. If only the rest of the world operated in such a kind and intelligent way!

  8. it's normal. if they mess up my order, they get it right for me and then give me the "messed up" 1 for free! so then i come out with 2 drinks for the price of one. i usually just give it to my brother or something. they're very generous there and have good quality drinks! amazing. i love starbucks too :)
