Starc’s visa issue has nothing to do with us: Cricket Australia – Cricket News Update
Cricket Australia have denied any involvement in the deportation of pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 on account of incomplete paperwork.
“Mitchell is on annual leave and decided to organise a short-term contract with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867. It has absolutely nothing to do with us,” a spokesman from CA informed the AFP, confirming that the decision to travel to the UK had been Starc’s alone. However, the
board went on to offer their services, should the 22-year-old need them.
“We have sent plenty of people to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-c76390 needs our help, we are happy to do that.”
Starc recently signed a short-term deal with Yorkshire, and was set to make in debut in a match against Gloucestershire, due to commence today on May 9 at the County Ground in Bristol. However, while he was initially cleared to remain in the UK after being
detained at Heathrow Airport in London, the Home Officer eventually deported the pacer on account of issues with his visa documentation.
Colin Graves, Yorkshire's chairman, termed the event a fiasco, and had previously accused CA for not having handled the case with responsibility. However, after the boards’ clarification, he went on to place the blame on Starc’s agent.
"We've got everything right, and Cricket Australia will look at it and say he's got what's required, and after that it's down to the agent,” he said, adding that it would be illogical to blame the English authorities, who couldn’t do much since Starc did
not have the required paperwork.
Yorkshire coach, former Aussie bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jason-Neil-Gillespie-c66461 also tweeted about the incident, clarifying that it has occurred owing to incomplete documents as opposed to negligence on Cricket Australia’s part, and expressed his confidence that the pacer would be
back soon.
“… the paperwork for Mitchell's visa was incomplete from Australia,” Gillespie tweeted.
“It will get done and Mitchell will be back before we know it …” he added.
With the match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 on May 16.
