The UK software sales charts has seen a fair bit of movement with Sniper Elite V2 and Prototype 2 doing the business while FIFA 12 and FIFA Street maintain their position
It has been another seven days since we last took a look at the charts and it turns out that shooting, whether it be bullets or footballs, seems to be the main craze among gamers in the United Kingdom these days.
Sniper Elite V2, the sequel to the cult-classic that came before it, has shot all of its competitors in the head – that too with just one bullet – as it manages to hold on to the top spot in the charts for yet another week.
The game shot itself to the top on its opening week before gunning down any competitors this week as it continues to be a title that 505 Games can be proud of.
One of the games that suffered a headshot was FIFA Street, as the game aimed at the more flamboyant, skill savvy players, spent its second week in second spot.
Another title which sees itself in the same place as before is third placed FIFA 12. The football simulation title has been selling like hot cakes since its release and it manages to hold its own, despite having been released before any other title in the
current top five.
Prototype 2 continues its stint in the top five places in the charts as the destruction friendly game is out for vengeance against Alex Mercer in a superpower filled action extravaganza as it continues to hold its own against Mass Effect 3.
Fans may have been disappointed by the ending(s) to Sam Shepard’s trilogy, however, it is still selling well enough to stay in the top five, though one has to wonder for how much longer.
Other notable games that are still in the top 10 include Battlefield 3 and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. However, Sony will be disappointed to learn that the critically acclaimed title, Starhawk, could not muster up enough sales to put it amongst the top
10.
That is it for this week, more charts news on www.dbuz.com in another seven days time.
