  1. Our sun is a common middle sized star and about a 4 x 10^(26) Watt bulb.

  2. Well...That is certainly a new idea...

If you wish to see what the universe looks like one step

    at a time...

    Our Sun is a star.

There are more than 200 Billion of them within the Milky Way Gallaxy, and beyond the Milky Way there are thousands and thousands of other galaxies which each have billions and billions of stars within them...

I would think that making a rather simplistic comparison of a star to a lightbulb is a bit hasty and it might overlook a few details such as the enormous number of planets out there circling all those other stars...The fact that some stars are Doublets, some are Triplets, and some are Clusters.

Suggest to your friend that they re-think the whole subject.

  3. On behalf of those of us who actually care about others and their feelings, I believe that the answer that you may have been seeking was that stars are exactly the same thing as our sun, but that they are very, very far away.

Is this what you were asking?

  4. They were being sarcastic. I read and replied that question. Stars are giant balls of burning gasses really really far from earth. The sun is a star that is close to Earth. Humans did not create everything. As to your question on the Big bang, I don't really understand it that well either, but I think I can answer your question about it.

A long time ago, all that there was was a big ball of stuff. Gasses, rocks, elements, etc. Then a bunch of energy that was generated by the stuff exploded, and all the stuff got scattered around. That is how the universe was made. The rocks and other stuff smashed together and made galaxies and stars, etc.

  5. No, dear. Stars are enormous balls of hydrogen undergoing nuclear fusion.

  6. OMG DONT LISTEN TO THESE PPL YES THEY ARE LIGHTBULBS THAT WE PUT UP THERE

  7. stars are more like giant suns.

they only APPEAR to be small because they are so far away.

  8. Stars are like the Sun, only very far away.
