I have Vista Business and I accidentally deleted the "programs" folder from my start menu and now all but a few links has disappeared. is there a system restore utility or a free external program that can recover files even if they have been deleted from the recycle bin?

I even tried creating another administrator user account to copy the program folder into the start menu directory but the new account had the same flaws.

Please help!!!!

  1. Ok try this...

Click start to bring up the start menu....go over to the grey shaded area on the RHS and rightclick to bring up properties option...

    click on properties.

Under the start menu tab of the box you just opened, click customize, and then recover your programs at will (its a tick box menu)

    good luck.

POSTSCRIPT: if you have deleted the program files folder from the hard disk thats a different fix feel free to let me know...
