Start Right and Canadian to be the probable threats for the Jaguar XF Trophy Handicap lineup on 16th February at Meydan
On Thursday, 16th February, Meydan will stage the Jaguar XF Trophy Handicap on Tapeta over a mile, a furlong and 110 yards. The lineup will comprise of fourteen runners to exploit the £42,581 purse.
One of the strongest contenders for the race is Start Right, Footstepsinthesand’s five-year-old bay gelding out of Time Crystal. He was sent as a favourite in his last three starts.
On 2nd July in the Coral Challenge Handicap at Sandown, Start Right was sent as a 11/2 favourite of the race where he scored a second position on a field of seventeen contesting.
Start Right was entered as a 5/2 favourite in the Longines Master Collection Moon Phases Handicap on 5th January at Meydan, in which he finished third on a track set for thirteen contestants.
In the second start of the season, Start Right was a 3/1 favourite for the SMKA – MK By Honeywell on 20th January which found him finishing fourth on a field invaded by fifteen in contention.
Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, the five-year-old has been riding with Frankie Dettori lately.
The four-year-old bay gelding, Canadian trained by M bin Shafya was a favourite in the third and fourth starts of his career, which totals up to five races till yet.
Canadian won the Prix Francis De Luze at Bordeaux le Bouscat on 16th April, in which he was sent as the 3/5 favourite.
His next race was on 5th May 2011 at Bordeaux le Bouscat, the Prix Daniel Guestier-France 3 Aquitaine in which he entered as a 9/10 favourite but could not continue racing after unseating his jockey, Pierre-Charles Boudot.
The seasonal debut, the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Handicap on 26th January, did not prove to be very lucky for Canadian as he ended in the twelfth slot on a field of fourteen racing.
The six-year-old bay horse, Atlantic Brave, under training Al Muhairi, ended the 2011 season by winning the Shadwell Farm on 16th December at Jebel Ali and was positioned third in the second start of the new season, the Jebel Ali Mile at Jebel Ali on 27th January.
Majority of the lineup has already raced their seasonal debut and will be seeking for victories during the course of the year.
