Start driving as a black cab?

Hi i want to starting driving a black cab around london as apart time job can anyone tell me how to start and the cost of it to start me up? i want to get my owen cab and learn the london roads. if any one can help.

NO matter what answer's you get the London KNOWLEDGE  is an essential  for you, it's time limit is restricted to how much time and effort you put into it all i know is that it's normally about  5yr's and not worth doing for a part time job  IF you CAN rent a cab from somebody who's willing to trust a novice you'll then have to purchase one .THEN INSURANCE is ASTRONOMICAL  estimate's  in the THOUSAND'S  if this is help full to you best of LUCK

If you are reasonably intelligent it will take about three years to get a London Hackney Carriage licence,

If you are not prepared to put in that amount of effort maybe you could try minicab driving. Check out the cost of insurance first though!.

You do NOT start driving around London a a Black Cab driver !!!  It will take 2 or 3 years for you to get the 'knowledge'  to enable you to get a permit - if you are lucky and have a good memory.
