Start football next year. Is it ok?

So this year I'm a freshman in HS (9th grade) and didn't really feel like playing this year cause I need a year to get used to school and stuff. My question is it ok to just start next year when I'm a Sophomore (10th grade) in HS? I know it probally is I just keep having these second thoughts. So if you've ever done something like what I'm doing this year just let me know. Thanks!

i totally agree. high school really will be a huge commitment. The reason to tell if you want to play is when you have no second thoughts. You can only play hs football if you say yes with no second thoughts. a maybe will never cut it.

The only thing taht you are up against in starting a year late is that you'll be a bit behind in learnign you'r team's systems and philosiphies and you'll probably end up being a reserve initially. Starting as a Freshman in many schools allows you to compete only with the the other freshman for positions on the freshman team. As a sophomore you'll be competing for time ont eh varsity team with everyone and on the JV team with Juniors and Sophomores who have 2 or 3 year of experience.

That shouldn't stop you if you want to play.

if ur not sure then don't do it because it always leads to something bad and plus u should probably wait anyway to get 1 more year of preparation
