Start menu popping up repeatedly?

Pls

can somebody help me.

my start menu is popping up repatedly without pressing nothing.

i scanned for virus with the latest update of avast and nothing was found.

the computer os is xp professionals sp2

  1. Sounds like the "Windows menu button" on your keyboard might be jammed. its the key that has the windows logo on it. Thats my best guess...


  2. First rghit clik on the taskbar and  go to properties then turn off/on the auto hide option therafter restart the your problem should be fixed  

  3. Reboot keep tapping f8 >start up menu >select safemode> does it happen now ? if not then its a software problem.

    Easiest way is to do system restore. Accessed from: start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.

    Dont forget to give the best answer if you wish.

    Or cleanp the keyboard from dust or liquids.

    If the problem persist.

    You should get a new keyboard

  5. it could be a sensor problem in your keys so if what the guy above said doesnt work then you might want to get it checked for sensor problems

  6. Remove your cat from the keyboard.
