  1. Well, I'll tell ya this. God does everything with an order to it. Especially when it comes to ministry and His church. Giving the key to these people opens an avenue for confusion, pride, greed, and fear. The Pastor has given you a responsibility, honor that. There will come a time (if your ministry is healthy and bearing fruit) that you will need to expand. At that time you should talk to the pastor about training and building leaders for your food bank. Then you will know that the people with the right heart will help you. For them I am reminded of Jesus who said,

"Do not take for yourselves the place of honor at the table, lest you be removed from your seat and are shamed. Instead, take for yourself the least position at the table, that the host may come to you and say "Come! Sit and dine with us up here!" Hence you will be honored publically in front of all."

God bless what you are doing and I hope you can make an impact on lives where people are unchurched.

  2. You have been doing a lot of good work for others. I think you might consider leaving that religion. You are too good for it.

  3. NO!!!!! you should have spoken to him. its his responsibility to address the problem.

  4. You should not have given it up, you should tell them to talk to your pastor and get your pastor to straighten them out.

  5. Not knowing the entire case and the other side, I'd talk to your pastor.

If the food is being stored at your church and you are handing out food there, there could be liability issues and someone has to have keys to have access.

Also, you may want to consider that other people should be/want to be involved with this good work that you've started.

I hope this works out for you.

  6. Stand your ground. Tell them that this deal or item was between you and the pastor. And besides that, its no ones business.

Now if they wish to help, lend a hand, bring in a bag of food, sure, great, more the merrier. But the room sounds like your office, food storage, etc. To prevent loss, theft or anything only limited people should have access.

As it would be just terrible if you promised a meal to a family, went to your room to obtain it yet it was all gone. Due to others holding keys as well.

The poor of the poor deserve hand outs. Not those that are too lazy or unmotivated to work.
