The pain is sort of sharp and drags. A year ago my optometrist told me I had a scar in that eye. Could that be the cause? Is my infected as a result of wearing contact lenses?

  1. If the lenses start to dry then they scrape against the eye and cause irritation, also you must be sure that you follow the correct guide  lines on how to clean them. Because if you use anything else than they describe it could make you go blind

  2. It could just be irritation caused by the contact lens rubbing. Go back to glasses for a few days and try again when it stops being sore. If it happens again go to your optician.

PS have you tried daily disposables? they are much thinner and have a higher water content so irritate less.

  3. Chances are it will be the scar tissue that's causing the pain. Maybe soft lenses would be better for your eyes than hard lenses as they're much more flexible and will let your eyes breath.

Good luck and I hope your eye gets better soon.
