Starter Dan Haren wishes to stay with Los Angeles Angels – MLB Update
Los Angeles Angels' starting pitcher Dan Haren does not want to go anywhere else in the league instead, he wants to play further for the team he has been playing for last two years.
Haren made his way into the Angels from the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010 and since then, he has adjusted well in the Angels' squad and is performing well.
Currently the league players and Major League franchises are dealing with free agency market. Many key players are free agents and many teams want their services.
Some teams have already re-signed some of their veteran players while many players are still looking for a new potential contract from interested teams.
Dan Haren, a 2012 free agent knows his worth, but despite knowing his demand in the free agency, he has desired that he will be more comfortable in the Angels as he already knows the management and coaches.
He made public comments and recently put great emphasis on his future.
"I think they should keep me just because the uncertainty of the free agent market and the fact that replacing me is gonna cost some money, I have a big upside and I feel like I'd be low-risk being on a one-year deal," Haren said about the Angels.
He added, "I started working out about a week after the season ended, and I'm feeling good, I'm gonna go into this spring as strong as I've ever been and I'm confident I'll be back to my old self. I loved my time with the Angels, I would come back if we worked out something fair for both sides.”
Haren finished this past Major League Baseball season with 4.33 ERA along with 12-13 win-loss, 142 strike-outs and 1.29 WHIP. While his nine year career 1585 strike-outs along with 3.66 exceptional ERA, 119-97 win-loss and 1.18 WHIP also makes him a good player in the free agency market.
Before coming into the Angels, Haren played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals.
On the other hand, expert also believe that the three-time All Star and a consistent pitcher, Haren’s possesses the right skills to be given a new contract by the Angels. However, if he does not get one, he will probably will end up signing a big lengthy contract with some other top National League franchise.
