  1. Yes, it's better for you to start late because when you're young you aren't really into it, this is the advice I give to every late-comer, at your age you know better than to focus on rank and focus more on perfection. "I fear the 1 technique you've done 1000 times than the 1000 techniques you've done 1 time."

  2. Its never too late! dude rampage jackson started around your age and now look at him, though im pretty sure he didnt do karate. if you are thinking bout being a proffesional, well you need some ground game. possibly take up wrestling at your school or maybe some bjj. ground game plays a pretty big role in the ufc.

just a question, what kind of karate are you taking? a lot of karate dojos are in it for the money and though they wil teach a little bit, i dont think it will be intense enough for ufc. its hard now adays to find a legit dojo.

    well good luck

  3. Absolutely! I didn't start until I was around 36. If you want to go towards ufc/mma, balance from the start (don't wait to get black in karate and then take up wrestling or grappling). Train in karate (I'm in kenpo, but there are merits to all styles), boxing (this helps me alot in my karate once I got past the basic differences), conditioning, hitting hard (laugh, but you can improve this, I'm tiny and I hit like a m**o :), ground (I'd prefer bjj, but there are merits to all), and I personally love muay thai; but I'm an elbows and knees kinda gal :) I do karate for different reasons, so I am just focusing on my black . Some formal muay thai training is next for me. But, like I said, I'm not looking to be mma professionally so this is just cause I like. Karate is mind, body and spirit for me.

And for me, keep your hands up and use those lower leg kicks :)

oh yeah..one more thing...don't even consider a dojo that will give you black in less than 5 years.

  4. thats prime time dude by the time you get into the super hard sparing you will be about done growing...but as its been said before its never too late
