Ok, so im going into the 9th grade this year. Im not nervous about going to the highschool, im actually excited! But, i just moved to this school not even a year ago, and there was a lot of drama. And i have like no friends, seriously. Cuz all of the "Popular" people ended up hating me cuz one popular person didnt like me, so they seriously like ruined my life and made me all depressed (but thats not what this question is about). And there are all sorts of stupid rumors going around about me, and yeah like nobody likesme. How do i start off fresh in the highschool? How do i regain friendships? not with the jerky people that started the s**t. But other people, that just heard whatever they heard and now hate me? I cant go through another year with people thinking false things about me. I want some sort of advice on how to look better and be more confident in myself as well, because i have really bad body-image issues. so any way to have a good year, and look good and feel confident?!

  1. Just feel great. Begin to talk any students. You will find any friend ship is great. Don't worry about the friends who were not kind to. These individuals were not your friends. This a great world for every body. Do not what people think of you. Just be happy and smile. The best of luck to you.

  2. The 9th grade in a new school is the best place to meet new friends. Many go into this situation a bit nervous and are anxious to make new friends./

Be yourself, be friendly, be helpful and join extra-curricular activities.

  3. Honestly, the best you can do is be YOU. High school is great for finding new friends, because a lot of people are new... it's where students from different middle-schools, homeschool programs, and different cities all have to study together. Be open, look for people who look like they're like you are, see if you get along with people in your classes...

It doesn't matter who was popular before High School... even the coolest 8th graders come into High School as Freshmen. They're the underdogs, too. There will be new "popular" people, new troubles, and new friends. New starts :-)

If you want to start up old friendships, I'm afraid you'll have to go up and talk to them. Find out why you're not friends anymore. Clear up old rumors. Apologize, if it's necessary.

And... this is going to sound a little "dumb adult", but it's true... after High School, you're not going to see over half the people you spent all 4 years with. Ever again. Your grades, and sanity, are also important. Don't go ignoring those to "fit in".

    And have FUN! :-)
