Starting QB race to restart at Miami Dolphins training camp from July 27 – NFL News
The Miami Dolphins are heading to Nova Southeastern University for 20thconsecutive season’s training camp, to start from July 27 and led by head coach, Joe Philbin, for the first time.
Joe has joined the team earlier this year and the full training camp is going to be the first major workout activity that the official will supervise.
All players have been asked to report to the camp a few days before its start. Almost the entire activity, which is spread over 15 sessions, will be open to public.
Spectators have been allowed free access to the stadium with makeshift arrangement of about 2,000 seating facility for them. Furthermore, parking facility has also been offered free of any charge to the fans driving to the university to
watch their stars working out.
The camp will close on August 17 when the team heads to play the Carolina Panthers in the first preseason game.
Philbin said:
“We are excited and looking forward to the start of training camp and welcoming our loyal fans to watch the start of what will ultimately be the 2012 Miami Dolphins. I know our coaches, staff and players are eagerly anticipating the start
of the 2012 season and hope that our fans will share in our excitement and join us with the start of training camp.”
Apparently, the team has no rebellious or holdout case and all players are likely to hit the camp. The bright spot of this year’s camp is going to be rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill.
Ryan will compete with the incumbent, Matt Moore and veteran arrival, David Garrard, for the starting QB position, though he appears set to play at the backup position to start with.
He has been given few snaps on the starting line during the team’s recently held three-day mandatory minicamp and he reportedly failed to impress the coach and managers.
Garrard too looks settled down for a backup role, and even though the team has not officially admitted to leave the leading role to incumbent Moore, it certainly looks to be the case.
Officially, the team will leave the competition continue until beginning of the preseason activity before confirming their starter for the season.
