Starting a Small Business...need some quick advise?

I know this is not the best way to research, but I need to stepping stone...where and how do I start in order to begin a small carpet cleaning business? Would really like some advise and the steps I need to take to acheive this.

You need to research the best methods to use and the equipment needed to implement those methods. You will need a van to transport all the stuff in as well.

You should get in touch with some realtor's and property management companies as to what they prefer and what they need in that capacity. Hotels are also a good source of business, and so information as well. In using these sources for input you also set up a report with target customer prospects, and people do appreciate being asked to give input and so will have an interest in your business and your success, especially if they like you, and if you offer a low introductory rate as a thank you, and do a great job.

That's some great advice so use it ; ) I've seen new carpet cleaners come into the business and helped them work it this way, and it works very well. I'm a Realtor, and between myself and others I had them contact they had more business than they could handle very quickly. Usually it takes years to build that.

The Small Business Association of America is a good place to start, you can begin to start taking steps in the right direction. http://sba.gov/

Sounds like you want to start a service business, most important thing is location. Service businesses (like maids, lawn care, make-up artists etc.) can have a central location inside your home! Just look at the state zoning laws in your area.
