Question:

Starting a day care in Renton, WA?

I would like to know how much people typically charge for private day care. I would be doing this from my home and I have a current CPR card, will provide nutritious meals, foreign language and other learning activities such as reading and field trips. I would only be taking 3 children plus my one. How much should I charge parents for full or part time care? Should it depend on age of children?

Thank you!

  1. You can call your local resource and referral agency. They will be able to tell you the average rates in your county.

  2. Hi there.  I am a mother looking for new daycare in Renton.  I am curious as to what you have decided that you would charge.  I am currently paying 140$ per week for a 2 year old,  but am due in April with a new baby.  Let me know what you decide, and where you're business will be located.  Thanks a bunch   :)

  3. are you going to be lisenced? if not I wouldnt expect the same rate a licensed daycare. but if you are call local daycares and find out there rates. when my mom had a daycare renton I think she had a full time rate part time rate and a before and after school rate. I think that she also had an hourly rate $3 an hour per kid but that was over 10 years ago. Good luck

  4. Here in CA, the usual rate is 150-160 a week for every kid. You have to secure the proper training and seminars required. The venue for day care will be checked for safety and will be monitored from time to time. It is best to start with few kids first. Have an aide available so in case a child would need bathroom help, somebody would be looking out after them. Good luck.
