Starting a new job at 26 weeks pregnant?

I am going to start working as a hostess next week. I am 26 weeks pregnant, but want to get out of the house more and the extra cash will be very helpful. (I am currently a senior in college, but am not going to school this semester because my baby is due during the semester). I have not worked in almost a year, and am nervous that I won't be as quick as I used to be. My friend is the manager of this restaurant and she has a lot of confidence in me. I don't want to let her down. Do you think I'm crazy for getting a job at the end of my second trimester?

  1. No...many pregnant women work right up until the end.  Pregnancy isn't an illness..it's best to keep active.

  2. i wish i would have worked while pregnant, i got so bored n i wanted a job so bad by the endof my pregnancy. go for it!

  3. It's not like you'll be working for long, you'll work for 2 mos then be on leave to have the baby! Enjoy being out while you can!

  4. I think its an okay idea...but Im gonna tell you, coming from someone who works 10 hour shifts....invest in a belly band from "motherhood" its a very thick elastic band that supports your back and goes underneath your belly. You'll find that being a hostess, you'll be on your feet ALOT, and if you're anything like me, by the end of your shift, you will feel like your baby is about to fall out! LOL But that band is a lifesaver!!! Its a uterine support so it takes alot of pressure away.
