Starting a new relationship when on strong antidepressants?

I have been going through a very hard time and am on strong antidepressants. I have started seeing someone and he knows, but I am now scared that my personality and outlook about the relationship may totally change when I come off the medication in a few months time.

Has anyone any advice?

thanks.

  1. stay on it and things will work out

  2. Why do you need to come off them in a few months?

I am on 60mg of Duloxetine and am well enough now to cope with day to day things, but I don't intend to come off them when they make me feel better!

Antidepressants aren't addictive, and if they suit you, carry on taking them. What is the problem with taking a pill every day?

Hope you stay well and good luck with your new man! xx

  3. Try not to worry - anti depressants are not addictive as such, and they certainly wont alter your personality.Hopefully they improve your mood, but it doesnt make you a different person and you will still feel the same about the new guy! As was suggested you dont need to come off them if you still need them - let your doctor guide you.
