Starting a playgroup?

Does anyone have suggestion on how to start up a playgroup in my area? I'm a little hesitant to do it online - what are some other ideas?

Hang up a flyer at your post office with an email addy or something so they can contact you.

Word of mouth-invite your friends and they invite their friends...

Post a note or hand out invites at your childs school, daycare, sunday school, preschool...

I know you really didn't want to do it online, but I know of a couple mom's who have had good luck with www.meetup.com   I'm a member of a playgroup started there and it works wonderful!

Talk to other parents at the park or church or something like that.

Tell them that you want to start a playgroup and see if they are intererested. Until you really feel like you know these people, have the play group in parks / library / zoo etc.  Don't bring them to your home for a while.
