Starting a politcal career?

Where does someone go to learn the basics of government concerning the various office available to run for? For instance, if somebody wanted to be President one day, where is the 'entry-level' position in government to start building up that experience so you can eventually run for President?

  1. It should start one of two places.

    Military experience...or at least a college education. Though neither is a 'requirement' both are look favorably upon.

    But if you just want to know about general local politics most states have elections every 2 & 4 years.

    Use the internet to find out what year your politions are up for reelection.
