Starting an Employment Agency ?

I am thinking of starting an Employment Agency does anyone know the best way to go about it? Is there a place I can go to do a course and or find people who will fince the project? Any information you can provide will help me.

I would research it carefully as there are a lot of places that are over-saturated with employment agencies. If you are going to be similar to Kellys or Manpower you may find you do not have a niche. Instead you should find a very specific niche that serves a very specific clientele.

Also you will have to research the laws on employment agencies as agency workers are a special class and you need to ensure that they are not considered an employee of the business by mistake. Also you will need to research immigration laws and the laws regarding who can legally work. Once you have done your research put a business plan together as no one will finance you without a 5 year business plan.

Quite frankly - if you have to ask this question, then you should not be starting this type of business.

Employment/recruitment is a very specialsed field, where you need to have the skills of a salesperson, as well as HR and counselling skills.  

In no way, shape or form is it a way to get rick quick - and you will not find it easy to find people to fund it as those who are interesting in the industry are already funning their own agencies.

If you are interestd in recruitment as sa career, you should start off by trying to get a job in the industry - perhaps start with the Job Network.

A course in HR (degree in Human Resources) is a good place to start studying, or in Industrial Relations.
