Hi,

I'm starting at James Ruse next year and I'm excited but VERY nervous!! I'll be starting in Year 9. Is there any advice you can give me for moving there? Is there anything I should know??

Thankyou! =]

  1. It is always difficult starting a new school but it is best to be yourself and be open to all experiences and everybody

  2. wow! you're very smart.

  3. First of all congrats for getting in. Not meaning to scare you or anything, some people who go to James Ruse can't handle the pressure and transfer to another school. The best thing to do is keep a cool head and start you assignments as soon as you get them and start studying for exams as soon as you are notified (or sooner if you know what's going to be in it already).

That's all the academic stuff. Coming to the social side: keep in touch with your old friends if you can. My best friend goes to James Ruse (she's in yr 11 now), she transfered from my school and I haven't talked to her for ages now, I really miss her.

Now new friends. I know making friends in a new environment is relatively difficult depending on who you are. But hopefully you go with the flow pretty quickly. And remember, other people are bound to get into Ruse as well, so you won't be the only one in your situation.

Finally, good luck with everything and congratulations once again for getting in. Well Done!!! :]
