I just moved so i have to switch schools. I'm going into grade 10. I'm really shy and not really good at starting conversations and stuff like that. Any tips on how to break the ice with new classmates that already have seperated into their "groups of friends"?

  1. I'm going to be a freshman in high school, so i know how it feels being a new girl in a new school. I don't usually start conversations easily either. But maybe in your first class talk to the person next to you. Usually they will look at your classes & tell you which teachers are nice, stuff like that. The first person you meet maybe will introduce you to his or her friends. Make at least one or two people in every class. You'll make friends quicker.

You might be different from the people you meet, but you don't really want to stay with people who are the same as you, cause that's how fights star.

Good luck in you new school =]

  2. Just try to be yourself & relax.  Im sure if you go with the flow you will find some new friends that are similar to the friends you left behind.

  3. I've been the new kid in 4 different schools and I'm shy too. Usually when you are new, some kids like to meet new people. If someone starts to talk to you, talk back. Or, to get people's attention, ask them questions. Like where your next class is or something. Don't worry, it's not that bad being the new kid. You will fit in soon enough.

  4. yea i'm starting a new school too and i'm so freakin shy and i can never talk to someone without awkward silence....honestly i have no clue... srry
