  1. I don't think it matters to go from lightest to darkest. My son's pediatrician told me to start with green beans then go to peas. The only thing he suggested was doing all the same colors together. Like if I did start with the green beans to do the peas before doing something orange. I did the veggies in this order... Green beans, peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes. I did the sweet potatoes last because I figured they were the "sweetest" of the veggies and wanted him to eat the blander ones first.

After we did all the veggies we then added fruits.

  2. Give your daughter carrots whenever you want to, as long as she's old enough to sit up and swallow baby food.

Honestly ... despite what anyone tells you ... it doesn't matter about the food color or the order of baby food given. Usually, pediatricians say to give vegetables first, rather than fruits. They think it will help kids like vegetables better. But I've never seen that work with any child I know, my own or anyone else's.

Here was the order I followed with my four, after baby cereal ...

    bananas

    pears

    applesauce

    carrots

    green beans

    squash

    peas

  3. I have never heard of that. I always started them on sweet peas, I do each veggie for a week just to be sure, I then did carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and then green beans. That is as far as we have made it so far. seems to be working just fine. no issues here.

  4. you can give them carrots as first foods.  Heres a good site for recipes etc:

  5. just gove him the boobie. :)

  6. Once you get to veggies you can give them in whatever order you want, I always thought. That's how I did it with my son and he is fine. You just have to make sure you spread them out and feed the same thing for a few days in case of allergies.

  7. My doctor told me to start with orange foods then go to green then go to fruits.  I started my son on carrots, then went to sweet potatoes (his favorite!) then to squash.  Then I gave him peas and green beans.  It doesn't really matter what order you give them in as long as you feed them the same thing for 3 days before moving to another flavor.  When I started feeding my son fruits I would give him a veggie in between flavors so that he didn't get used to having sweet all the time.

  8. That's an  ... interesting ... opinion.

There is no rule about the order you have to give babyfood.  It's all just for fun anyway, and all are equally low-allergy-risk and digestable for a baby old enoughfor solids,  so whatever order you prefer, and your baby enjoys, is fine.

Put a jar of each in a bag and pull one out at random.  Or arrange them like a rainbow.  Or go alphabetically. Or skip babyfood entirely and wait until baby is able to eat table foods.

    It really DOESN'T matter.

(Do be sure to give each new foood for a few days before moving onto the next, so you'll know if baby is allergic/sensitive to any food.)

  9. Start with peas, then green beans, then try squash, carrots, then sweet potatoes. Do each food for several days to see if there is an allergy. You want to start with the most bitter, then move towards sweet. The colors really don't matter. I have never even heard of that before. If you give them the sweeter vegetables first they usually won't develop a taste for the more bitter.

  10. All Doc are different and seem to say different things. I don't think there is a set rule.  My doc just told us to start with orange ones first so we did squash.

  11. Just cut everything small and you should be fine. I used to hate baby food. The doctor gave my mom the same advice and we switched to real food early. I turned out fine. Dont worry.
