I've done gymnastics for the past 6 years and i quit about a year ago.

I want to go back but im having trouble deciding. I was a level 7 and i'd like to get back to that level sooner or later. I asked my bestfriend for help and all she told me was negative stuff, so can someone please help me!

I quit because my coaches werent making it any fun and all they wanted was perfection and nothing else.

  1. My daughter was in the same position as you.  She was doing level 7, and her coaches were pretty much butt wads.  So she quit, and stayed out for about a year.  But the coach at her high school kept begging her to join the school team.  She didn't really want to, but she was too wimpy to say no.  So in order to prepare, she started working out again... at a different club.  We told the coaches ahead of time that she wasn't interested in competing on their team; she just wanted to work out with the team to get her skills back.  They were fine with that.

It turned out to be a great thing!  There was no pressure from the coaches (or from herself) to be perfect, and that made gymnastics a lot more enjoyable!  She actually looks forward to going now, and the skills she had trouble with before have come a lot more easily.  Gymnastics is finally fun again, and she's even thinking about maybe competing club again this year.

Maybe if you approach it that way, you'll have the same good experience my daughter has had.  If going to a different gym is an option, give that a try.  And start out by just working out, without aiming to compete right away.  It's amazing how much more fun and easy gymnastics is when you're doing it because you WANT to, and not because you feel you HAVE to!

    Good luck! =]
