I'm going to school full time starting tonight. It was a last minuet thing and I am very exicted. But also would like as much advice as I can get. Anything will be great!

  1. I would give just the usual advice--stay focused on your studies (don't make them your entire life, but stay focused when you need to).  Take good notes in classes and then take the time to recopy them at some point after class; that gives you the chance to review them as you recopy, and it reinforces what you've learned.  Also, you can see if there's anything that is unclear that you need the professor to explain better.

Which leads to the second point, don't be afraid to ask questions.  Like the old cliche goes, if you have a question, it's likely that someone else has the same question.  If you're too shy to ask in class, see the professor either before or after class.  I've asked a professor something either before or after, and he/she has explained it to me and then re-addressed it in class.

Third, you didn't say if you'll be living in a dorm or commuting, but either way, get involved in some activities.  Whether it's a club you're interested in, a sport, student government or whatever, it helps you become a more well-rounded student, and it also looks good on your resume later.

    Good luck!
