alright so I'm starting high school in less than a month and i am sooo stressed and nothing has even started yet!!! haha well anyway my parents have procrastinated on my registration forms and i didn't even get a physical yet and i just feel behind already. and all my friends have older brothers and sisters and im the oldest in my family so i dont know my way around the school. me and some of my school friends have drifted apart so i only have about 6 close friends right now and im in all honors classes and most of them arent. im really worried and i just need advice especially for the first day like what to expect and please give lengthy answers not "stay away from seniors and dont act annoying" like detail please!!!

ooh and i forgot to mention how bad is the drama? or is everyone super worried about homework and extra curriculars that they dont have time to start it/deal with it. and how much homework do honors freshmen get??

im really athletic so im definitely into joining clubs and stuff but im also smart and i used to be in Advanced Math in middle school but i kinda failed this huge math test (i was in 8th grade taking a sophomore level test) but my friends said that i can still get 'moved up' and get back in the class...idk if thats helpful in any way haha

  1. High School is really what you make out of it. If you're going to a public school in your zone, chances are you will know most of the people there. If you're going to a private school, then you MIGHT know some people there. I go to an all boy's school and I must say, it's pretty cool. I already know girls outside of school, so it's all good. Anyway, when I started high school, I knew one guy. That's it. He came from the same middle school I did. It was weird making the change from a co-ed school to an all boy's school I thought it was going to suck, but alot of the people there are extremely cool.

What you need to do is be yourself. It's a new high school, you've got a clean slate, you can make your reputation anything you want to be. You can be a jerk, you can be a cool person, you can be whatever. It's all up to you.

Homework for me is about 2 hours, maybe 3 if I have to study. 1 hour is a light night for me. In honors classes, expect ALOT of homework. I must give you credit though, all honors classes freshman year, you're on your way becoming ruler of the world someday. Anyway, if you're in all honors classes, you may become burned out by different things if you're trying to do extracurriculars. However, they are a good way to meet tons of new friends.

People in high school manage to complain alot about many different things. Don't be shocked when you have no time.

Freshman year is in essence a "**** up" year. That's why you have 4 years in high school. Sophmore, Junior, and Senior years count. Especially the junior year. Don't worry though, you've got 2 more years until that comes. So for now, enjoy the ride.

Good luck in school, I'll be praying for you.

  2. Don't worry about it, everything is going to be fine. Remember, there are other freshman just like you. You're not alone in this. Make sure you fill out all the registration papers and you'll be fine. Once you start school, you won't be nervous anymore.

  3. Gurl, u guna be fine.... U are guna find new friends there... And dont stress out on all of it.... When i was in high school, i managed to take advanced classes, be on the track team, clubs, and even have a job. High school are the best years of ur life, well except for college, but u get wat im sayin... And the drama, it comes and goes, out of my whole experience in high school, i had 2 big drama fights, and thats good comin from someone wit an attitude like me. And the homework, piece of f****n cake, i neva had homework becuz i managed to get it done during the class period. And no matta wat the seniors say, there is no pool on the top floor, ok. GOOD LUCK!

  4. Ok first please don't be nervous. First pat yourself in the back for a job well done in graduating from the 8th grade. Now I am going to help you suceed in highschool by telling you how it actually is. Parents are always in registration so thats isn't something to be surprised about. I'm about to be a junior in highschool so I went through my freshman year. Be on top of your parents. Harrass them if you have to because that happened to me and i had to go to my local highschool which was the worst. I had all honors classes too. You can make friends. Remember you aren't the only freshman there. There are hundreds of them and they are probably as nervous as you are. The drama is normal for every highschool. You just have to stay as far away from it if you want to have a good year. I know in my school there was alot of girl drama and it ended up with a bitten eye and most of my class being suspended. The good thing was that I wasen't part of it!  Homework is a must do because you learn more from it. The thing  about homework in my school was that they copied off of each other. I don't how your school will be but thats how it was in my school! Good job in getting all honors class! Look if you have any more question PLEASE don't hesitate to message me! I hope I answered every question!

  5. idk.

  6. Well in high school, things are a lot bigger. Like the students, teachers, and buildings. You also get more homework than junior high but don't let that get you down. Millions of students like you are entering high school for the first time. And it can be scary. But just relax. Just be yourself and you can make some life-long friendships. You can make some friends by joining in some after school clubs and sports. And also just by talking to the person beside of you. You can compliment on something they have to strike up a conversation. Also, in high school, you know you have more homework than junior high. So be prepared to do that. Be organized and don't procrastinate. Doing that will make you feel behind in your classes and you can't catch up. Just pay attention to your teacher's lectures, take good notes, and do your homework first before crashing onto the computer. Have a schedule with you or a to-do list. Prioritized your things and tackle big assignments one at a time. And have some fun too. High school is one of the best years of your life. Make it like that and you will enjoy high school.

When I was a sophomore, I was scared too. I was the shortest person in my high school. But I got used it and now, I'm used to being around taller people.

    good luck!
