  1. awww ! You remind me of of myself when I first got into high school. Trust me, the first day is a little shaky, but survivable.Make sure you look confident keep your head up, and when it comes to making friends, just talk to people, trust me, they dont bite. When I first stated high school as a freshman, I had 10th grade honors english, i know ! scary right? I was terrified, because it was a new school, and I had recently moved to the city, and guess what....it was my first class. At first, they kinda were taking advantage of me, but 3 weeks into the school year, they have grown to respect me, h**l, i was smart as them right? Be friendly, and most of all  CONFIDENT !. Make sure you dont act inmature to, that can be bad. But its good to have classes with older people, which means, older friends !!! whoo hooo, like on my first day, I asked people in my classes, " what grade do you guy think im in? ", one person said 11th the other said 10th. I was like, omg WOW . Make sure you join a sport too, make more friends.....oh and one last thing, dont just have older friends, make friends with people in your own grade....cuz you will regret it when all your friends have graduated, and you have no friends to graduate with ...good luck !...oh yah, with the drama...stay away from the ppl who are like attention whores !, stay with the laid back crowed, its not all about being popular these days.

  2. Welcome to high school! Every freshman, no matter how many older siblings they have or how prepared they might be, is just as nervous as you are. I have an older brother and sister and I still got lost just like everybody else, its no bid deal.

If you're still worried about getting lost you can always visit the school before the first day with some friends and take a walk around and find your classes and your locker. Even if you do get lost, you won't be alone, just about everyone does. There are usually teachers in the halls for the first week to help you find your way, feel free to ask one of them or any other student. Your school may also have an orientation program, if it does you'll get something in the mail about it. At orientation you'll get a tour of the school and advice from upperclassmen.

The first day is all an adjustment. Its just finding your way and trying to get used to your schedule. Classes on the first day are pretty laid back freshman year, your teachers will probably give you some papers detailing what materials you will need and what you will be studying. Talk with your friends and see if you have lunch with them, if not its not that bid a deal, just find someone you saw in a class earlier that day and ask to sit with them. There is no one I know that would turn you down.

Do not be afraid of upperclassmen! Upperclassmen will not shove you into a locker, trashcan, toilet, or other undesirable place. In fact, if you get involved, I can guarantee that you will have some upperclassmen friends by the end of the year. We get a bad rap in the movies, but we really aren't mean to the freshmen, we have better things to do than bother you guys :).

Most importantly get involved! Join a team or a club, or both! Being involved allows you to meet a lot of people that share the same interests as you and make a lot of great friends. Being involved is, in my opinion, the best thing you can do to enjoy your high school years.

Homework will vary by teacher. I have had honors classes with very laid back teachers, but there are some very difficult teachers as well. I think your homework should be pretty doable, my school does not offer all honors courses so I have never been in your situation, but just manage your time and everything will get done. I am confident that you will still have time to be involved with activities outside of school. Just remember that your teachers recommended you for these classes because they know you can handle the work, don't stress yourself about it and just do your best.

I have never had an issue with drama, and its not because everyone is worried about schoolwork. You'll come to realize that a majority of kids don't stress about their grades until junior year. Definitely keep your grades up and always do your homework, but don't stress yourself out about it. Worrying never did anyone any good. There will of course be some drama here or there, but again my friends and I have never had an issue with it. I think you'll be fine.

    best of luck!

  3. First get all your papers and your physical because those are pretty important or else they won't let u in school. Don't worry about bieng the eldest, because i was in the same boat that your in right now. I didn't know where anything was my first day so i got lost. I would suggest  to try out for sports so you could meet more people. I started playing football and i was decent and nobody annoyed me or made fun of me and that set me up for the for years, and i met a lot of great people. High school is drama , try to stay out of other people's buisness unless they ask for your opinoin. BUT BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU SAY CUZ SOMETIMEs IT'LL GET YOU IN TROUBLE. Drugs/alcohol, partying, and popularity is a big factor too, but seriously just concentrate on getting good grades cuz its not worth hurting your body with stupid substances. Homework for honors is not bad as long your on top of it. Just make the best of it and make smart choices and you'll be good to go.

  4. Well, I can bet you didn't become an Honor's Student by losing your head, so I have faith in you.

You said you 'feel' behind, but I don't think you are. You're probably just accustomed to doing things well ahead of time, so this isn't quite your style.

Do this for me: relax... breathe easy... and talk to your parents about this. Let them know you're concerned. I can bet they'll have things under control soon.

Yes, drama... Listen, no matter what the school, there's always drama to deal with. I'm sure you already know you can't concern yourself with things that won't go away, but you can learn to work around them so they don't deter your studies. Watch and learn how people act and behave. Keep a safe distance from troublemakers, drama queens and bums. You don't have to be popular, or with the 'in' crowd. I do suggest sports, though, but that's not critical.

As for homework for Honors Freshmen... I haven't the slightest idea. Keep your focus, don't be negatively influenced by bums, and I have faith that you'll do great.

    Keep your chin up!

  5. Then you fill our the forms. All its going to ask you is stuff you'll already know. Theres nothing to freak out about. It's just school, everyone freaks out the first day, says how horrible its going to be.

Personally to me all of school was a living h**l, to most its a fun cakewalk.

  6. the same thing is going on for me. so i know exactly how u feel. my advice would just be to relax. everybody goes throgh this so dont worry about it. :D
