Starting highschool with no friends

I'm really nervous about highschool in the fall because none of my friends are going to be there, and i hate the thought of being alone in school. I'm most nervous about lunch and classes where partners are needed to be chosen. Apparently this school has lots of cliques, and i dont want to be alone all throughtout highschool. Im not a looser and i like the way i look, but i am quite nervous and dont want to come off as needy or desperate when it comes to people to sit with at lunch or people to be partners with. Please help, thanks.

  1. This one girl just sat at my lunch table and no one knew her but then she became cool friends. =] But don't worry so much. If your some that's quiet... it may be tough. Just make friends and go with the flow.

  2. That's the way it was for me in middle school. All my friends and even my bro/sis went to a different school. I felt alone and scared. But I kept my head up and when I went into class there was another girl named Jennifer that was also new. I could tell she was nervous and scared also. I went and said and we becomes good friends.  Just keep your head up and don't let anything get you down! You'll have friends in no time.

  3. but I have no friends also...

  4. dont worry, that happened to me, i was the only one from my primary school going there, and i knew no-one.

i was just myself, and tried to talk to everyone.

just say really casually, "hey, im ____ and i dont know anyone here, do you mind shhowing me around?"

and then, youll have someone to sit with

    : )

be happy, and remember, its better to fake confidence than to be shy!

  5. There are so many people who have run into the same situation as you. I suggest maybe joining a sport, club, honor society, track...or just something so that you can meet more people. If not, there will be plenty of opportunity during classes to meet others. Do not worry about feeling needy either...everyone knows how difficult it is to start at a brand new school with none of your friends with you.

Hope this helps! And good luck :)
