Starting my own aids benefit for children in africa?...where do i get started??? please help me?

i really want to make a difference, but i just have no clue where to get started. i want someone like a band? to play but idk who i should try to get or a speaker or both! i just have no idea. please help me.

First you need to find a nonprofit organization that you believe in and support, people will want to know where their donations will be going and how the money is used.

The saying, it's takes money to make money, is very true especially, if you're trying to hold an event yourself without being backed by an organization.  There must be several organizations in your home town that does AIDS work/research that would love your enthusiasm and drive.  They could probably help steer you in the right direction.

Don't lose your passion to help others, if you can't get the event you envision off the ground.  I would suggest starting a little smaller and work your way up to a large event.

Maybe you could start by volunteering for an organization that already helps this same cause.

That way, you can still make a difference, and learn a lot about what it takes to run a charitable organization, while networking and meeting people who feel the same about it. It's pretty hard to start something like that from scratch.

And heck, you might realize that you would all do more together, than if everyone started their own organization. power in numbers, you can work with an established organization that already exists...
