my twins will be 5 months next week. one of them was and still is a very hungry baby. at 20 weeks i offered them some baby rice. the hungrier little guy is enjoying it immensely and has mastered the whole swallowing and eating thing, opens his mouth for each little spoon. the other has rejected it point blank. ive tried various approaches but he clearly isnt ready so i wont push him. has anyone had this with their twins? will he catch up, or am i doomed to different eating routines for months?

  1. i wouldn't worry, i haven't got twins but i have 3 children.  I'm sure having twins or even triplets is no different to when you have one child at a time.  like i said i have 3 and they all crawled, walked and eat at different times.  my second oldest child wouldn't eat any thing and i was told to push her into eating as she had to eat, but no matter what i tried she wasn't ready,  i decided to wait until she was ready, then one day at my friends house while my friend was feeding her little girl i tried her again and she eat like there was no tomorrow.  then three is my youngest he started eating at 5 months, hes not a big baby at all but just enjoys his food.   So i suppose what I'm trying to say as that just because they are twins doesn't mean they are going to everything at the same time.  they are individuals and you should keep that in mind,  I'm sure both of your children will come on leaps and bounds individually in their own time.   good luck, all the best

  2. Christina said everything that I was going to say! My twins are 7 months old and they are just like that. I started them on solids when they were 6 months old. Addy was great with it, while Sarah wanted nothing to do with it. I continued to offer baby food to her for 2 weeks until finally she took it. Even though they are twins, they will be nothing alike! Get used to it!

Good luck and don't worry! He's bound to catch up!

  3. Twins often do things at different times, get used to it :)  The other one will eventually be ready, but you have to remember that they're different people and will have different likes/dislikes too.

My twins have very different tastes in food so I usually end up making two things for them to eat because it's rare that they will like the same thing.  They walked, talked and did just about everything else at different times too, just another fun part of being a twin mom!  The best is when they're in two different sizes of diapers, lol!
