Question:

Starting new job in 2 days...... feeling nervous?

Hi. I'm 16, and about to start my first job on Monday.

I recently did my GCSE's , although they were sat at home, as i have been homeschooled for over 2 years.

I managed the interview , although i felt relived as it was only one person i had to talk to. Now i'm starting to feel nervous, as i know i will need to communicate and speak with others.

Because i was home tutored, i do suffer from low self esteme, and i find it difficult to meet new people. I tend to suffer worse when there are crowds - and the workplace i'm going into is medium sized, with a fair amount of people .

Any advice on how i can attempt to over-come this for Monday?

Thanks.

  1. Well done on the job! You just need to be ready to take on board everything you're told, and don't be afraid to ask questions. You're not expected to know everything. Make sure you're not late, make a good first impression on the people you'll be working with. Try and make conversation, if you have time!

It's really scary starting a new job, but the experience will make you much more confident and help your self esteem.

    Good luck!
