in November i won "best actor" in my Shakespeare class in school

since then I've been interested in acting, in spring I'm going to audition for my college's theater program, depending on the production,

are there any other tips or ideas as to launching a career in acting?

because id prefer to act on film as apposed to stage.

  1. take acting for film classes, read about your profession, know as much as possible - know who is who and attend workshops and classes where these people may be.

get headshots done and work toward getting a demo reel completed. Get as much experience as possible - professional and amateur - to build up the start of your resume.

Then apply to agencies and see if they will take you on. be careful of scams. there are a lot out there who just want your money.

you just need to keep working toward your craft. film acting is a very specific type - it is very different from stage work.A really good book which defines the difference is Patrick Tucker's "Secrets of Screen Acting".

    Finally, GOOD LUCK!

  2. Get some headshots, make sure you look good in them, then call a bunch of agencies, find out their submission policy, try to get an agent...in the meantime try to do student or low budget films even if for free, so that you can build a reel.....
