  1. if there are any atv trails around you ride on those and sometimes i ride along highways (in the grass next to highways)

  2. My advice:

    1. make sure your bike is in good shape.

    2. make sure your in reasonable shape.

    3. Be comfortable and very familiar with your bike, shifting, balance etc.

    and finally the most important:

    4. Ride the 1st few times with someone experienced. You will learn the basics much faster as they guide and coach you through the trails. I do this for newbies all the time. When we're finished, I answer any questions the newbie has. This will give you a great place to start from.

  3. heres a tip..

    Its soo much fun..

    But dangerous..you can die :o

    lmfao

and make sure your mountain bike is in really good condition..and not just some crappy bike bought from a department store or something lol.

Maybe even try to find someone who has experience with mountain bikeing..so you can talk to them one on one..and maybe they might be able to show you in person some special SKILLZZ

    hope i helped a litle..

    peace (Y)

  4. I can say a couple of things.  Always ride outside of your comfort zone, but don't be stupid (IE. once one previously hard section becomes easy, move up to something harder and remember that you can always walk around sections that are too hard).  Also, make sure you have a real MTB, not some wally world special (I'd assume you do because most people who buy an x-mart bike never do anything more than ride on bike paths).  Don't be afraid to fall; I've never gone more than 5 days without getting at least a gash in my leg (I average 2-3 times a week and I fall almost every time I go).  Also, if you ever plan to ride with clipless petals, start off with them.  You are way more efficient.  Don't be afraid.  If you need more help, or have specific questions, PM me.
