Starting own dance team for high school?

Question

so whoever that has been on a pom/dance team for your school knows how confusing and unfair it is. Tryouts are pretty bad and they just get unfair. well thats what happened at my school. i didnt try out this year but all my friends who did.. (who are amazing at dance by the way) either didnt make the team they wanted to or didnt make it at all..

what i was asking is how do you think i could start a dance team for my school? we only have pom teams.. not dance. they are traditional pom and we could be contemporary dance.

what i'm thinking is we need to at least find a mom or somebody to be there to watch us..for supervison. because me and my friend have been doing dance forever so we could do the ruitens and stuff. im just wondering how to get the school to let us? and if we would be aloud to dance durring halftime at football games like pom? idk some tips pleaseeeeeee

maybe you should appeal to your headmaster or get a petition to be signed.

im english and we dont really have dance teams within school, most of us go to a dance lessons at dance schools during our own time.

get all the girls who didnt get onto the team to do it with you, for this kind of thing more support is needed.

First off, I wish you and your friends the best.

I suggest that you speak to the principal, some1 other than the pom coach in the performing arts dept. Get parents and people in the community involved.Once you get the ok...hold your own try outs. As far as getting people to say yes, show them u want it. Write a proposal and come up with a routine. Be persuasive.

try asking a teacher who is extremely close and friendly towards you to support you.. if good enough, ask her to help you seek for approval.. list out all the advantages and contribution of the dance team to the school.. Hopefully they will allow you to form a new dance club.
