  1. It's organized kill the man with the ball.  The way to learn is to play.  Run forward and don't drop the ball. Make good lateral passes to your teammates. On defense now your position on the field and secure the tackle on the other team.  Worry about tactical things when you start, but for now that is the best way to explain it.

  2. Get yourself a gumshield and a scrum cap.

  3. get lessons

anyway they will teach you how to play!

they wouldnt be a very good school if they didnt!

  4. maybe talk to some of the players and coach (especially coach) and ask them to explain it to you. That way, you build a better relationship and they know you aren't experienced, so they will do some special stuff for you.

  5. Okay, don't worry because as you are young you are allowed to make mistakes it's the law at your age practically :-))

Anyway the aim of the game is to catch the ball run forward with it and try to put the ball down over the opposing teams try line. The opposing team will try to stop you by tackling you, unlike soccer you are allowed to grab the person with the ball and knock them down to the ground (No punching or hair pulling though) Sorry I wasn't sure if you are from the US but if so you are allowed to tackle somone from behind and below the waist which is NOT allowed in US football I believe.

Most of the time you cannot score a 'try' on your own so you pass the ball with your hands to your team mates. You can only pass the ball backwards/sidewards & never forwards though this will happen accidently a lot until you practise lots.

Make sure you have a gumshield because it can be quite rough (though not as bad as hockey can be!)

I hope this is a start for you as it can be lots of fun but you will learn more by playing the game, watching other teams play and by asking questions if you don't understand.

    The very best of luck
