Starting school education in Australia

Question

I have a 4 year old daughter whom I want to start schooling when my family moves to Australia later this year. Can you please give me some basic information like the Academic calendar, child's age and the school enrollments, teaching methods, adaptability if I return back to India in 2 years, etc?
